We love girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes

I hesitate to put recordings of my kids playing instruments on the blog. To some it can come across as bragging. To more serious musicians my family's performances don't seem worth bragging about. But I know there are some grandparents and aunts who love to see Lizzy and Zoey perform no matter what.

Zoey's been playing viola for a little over a year. She loves it.

After her viola piece went so well, Zoey said her brain turned off and she found herself completely forgetting the rest of her piano piece. She just played and played until the piece came back to her. I considered not posting this piece since it wasn't perfect and I've already posted her playing this song once. But I think this clip tells a lot about Zoey. I admire how she kept her cool and kept on playing.

When Lizzy started piano at 8 we made a deal with her that she couldn't quit until she had played 5 years. We realized recently that she has passed the 5 year mark. Now she wouldn't dream of quitting. She recently got her first job teaching piano and loves it.

Great work, girls! I love that Zoey counts the beats by nodding her head. And I think Lizzy plays so much better than I ever did (and I had 9.5 years of lessons).
Ruth - would you sign Nate up to get your blog via email? He likes to know what you guys are up to, but I think it is a struggle to actually check the blog. (I have to email him ours too!)

I listened to all the songs and loved them. I'm looking for a piano teacher for Abe-- guess Lizzy is a little far away.
