Last night we did some bread sculpture and ended up with a bunny dancing in the tulips. Zoey didn't participate because she didn't hear when we called her and we assumed she was having too much fun to come help us. Zoey was very disappointed and so she got to make the honey butter.

Sunday dinner
Last night we had Sister Agnew ,from our church over to dinner. We had Coq au Vin for dinner. We talked about several things including work, summer, and gardening.
We have a unique gardening system. Zoey and I each have a grow box that we can plant anything in except for a small part that belongs to Mom. We can plant whatever we like and we can sell fruits, flowers, and vegetables to mom for farmers market prices.
Sister Agnew insisted that my mom had been inspired when she went grocery shopping to buy asparagus and cherries. (We had both for dinner and she really likes both.) I 'm definitely beginning to "ramble on" so I'll stop now.

Just Because

Will is so cute eating corn on the cob. OK Will is so cute whatever heactually seems to like John. He will be 11 months this week and he is working on
does. He is such a happy baby and so easy going. Bill some times refers to him
as chill Will. He is so amazingly tolerant of the abuse John gives him. He
walking. He takes about a dozen steps at a time. He actually moves pretty
fast walk or crawl and it seems several times a day I have to go looking for
him. He is always contentedly exploring and doesn't seem to have
the flair for mischief that John does. Or maybe that's wishful thinking.
Since I had the camera out John had to have his picture taken as well. He tried to make a nice photo by building a corn/ketchup tower.

Last night
Last night we had fish tacos for dinner. Nobody can remember what we talked about. Dad wasn't there and we were all really hungry. I think we were really hungry because Zoey and I had just had school play dress reahersal.
Tonight for dinner we had Tuna Cassorole. This is not one of my favorite meals . We talked about what we're going to do over the summer. We talked about going on walks every day and going swimming every Friday and Thursday. Again Dad wasn't here.

Dinner with Shinnosuke Recovered
Shinnosuke was Bill's medical student from Japan in April. We had him over for dinner on Friday April 20th. We had fajitas and key lime pie for dessert. We like to serve fajitas to our guests not from America because fajitas are truly American albeit Tex-Mex, not universally ubiquitous like hamburgers, pizza and KFC and actually taste good. We also served them in February when Bill had medical students from Germany. I don't know what Shinnosuke thought of the Fajitas. He said they were good but he was very polite--Bill said he called him Sir and bowed to him all day long. Actually, I don't think it mattered what we served him Shinnosuke seemed grateful to have a home cooked meal. He told us that he cooked his first meal on this visit to the US. He even took a picture of it and showed it to us.
We had a great time visiting. I'm sorry to say one of the blogs I deleted was what Lizzy wrote about the dinner. She said her favorite part was when he taught her to write her name in Japanese.
Bill and Shinnosuke
Shinnosuke took the picture below of our family and since many of you haven't seen us in a while I thought I'd tack it on.

Deleted Birthday Post-Recovered

Dinner: April 12, 2007 7 p.m.
Take-out Greek Food
Yesterday was Mom's birthday. I didn't get to write last night because I had to go to bed. Mom was going to make easy paella, but Dad said that making dinner on her birthday was out of the question. So he got Greek takeout on his way home from work.
Zoey and I made a cake on Wednesday with some "help" from John. Then yesterday Zoey and I made chocolate frosting to go on the vanilla cake. The cake was going to have three layers but we didn't have enough frosting or enough time to make more.I don't know what else to say so that's it for now.

Better Than Sea World-John's Dolphin Impersonation
We keep writing posts and then trying to attach a photo and the whole thing gets deleted and it's very discouraging. So I've been waiting till we solve this problem before continuing with our blog but last night John did something I thought you'd all find amusing. Right before dinner he stood up on his booster chair, raised his arms high above his head and announced, "Watch me be a dolphin!" Then he leapt from his chair and belly flopped on the ground. He crumpled up in a sad little ball and cried and cried. Lizzy and I kept solemn faces while comforting him but Zoey couldn't help but laugh into her napkin. What was going through his 3-year-old mind? I just called John over (which was a good thing because he was dismantling the piano chair) and asked him about his dive from the dinner table. He said, "It was so cool. I was being a dolphin." I think this might be why John has our household record for emergency room visits. He has no memory of pain. --Ruth
