Mother of 8 for a day

Some of you know that I had been training to run the St. George Marathon. Unfortunately I hurt my hip on a long run in July and I wasn't able to run. Instead on the day of the Marathon, Oct. 6, I watched one of my running partners 4 kids. My kids thought this was about as fun as Christmas. One of the things they did was do a play-- a unique interpretation of Rumpelstiltskin pictured below. Back row L-R Lizzy,10; Marin, 13; Will, 1; Jackie, 9; and Malachi, 7
Front Row: Zoey,7; John, 3 and Sofia, 4. If you aren't sure which ones are Mitchells you have no bushiness reading this blog.

This picture sums up the weekend perfectly.

By the way Colleen, the Sanders' mom, did great in the marathon as did our other running partner Jen Winn. As for me there's always next year.

"Mrs. Mitchells," I didn't know you had been training for a marathon! I thought you were just running like you always do.

Sorry you missed out on the marathon--that's fun that you have some serious running partners now!

I'm glad that you "stopped by"--its great how many people I've found through the blogs and now get to keep up with what's going on in their families. Helps me not miss SD quite so much.

Ruth, you should do the Texas half with me in February! Dallas would love to host you!

Hi Ruth! Julie Hanson. I happened on your blog and I am so glad I did cause I often think of you and wonder how your sweet family is doing. It looks like you are well! I am in a book club with Laurel Darowski who apparently knows you from living in Dallas 1st ward. (funny, I lived there too and somehow never saw her). Anyway, just wanted to say Hi (that way I don't feel like I'm snooping).

I am sad to hear about your bum hip and missing out on the marathon. I agree with Catherine- come to Dallas. I'm sure by February it will have cooled off a little.

Lettie, Funny you should call me Mrs. Mitchells. I assume that's a typo but the youngest of the Sanders girls always calls me that and it makes me laugh.

Julie,
Good to hear from you. Say hello to Laurel. Send her to this blog if you like. I hope you and your family are well.

Lara and Catherine,
I don't know maybe I should come to Texas. I don't know if I can wait till February. With all these wildfires, I want to go there right now.

The Mrs. Mitchells was purposeful. You babysat her while we were there and I also thought it was hilarious.
